Versuchs mal unter dem Namen " Waldorf Astoria " in RAK. Steht unter der Leitung von Hilton International. Die Residences sind was anderes im gleichen Haus.

Hi Verena,   Daniel hat schon Recht, einfach mal ein bisschen im Forum stöbern   Ich würde noch die Jumeirah Mosque mit auf den Plan nehmen, den Walk Jumeirah und die Dubai Mall mit den Fountains. Auch die Mall of the Emirates mit der Skihalle ist für einen First Timer interessant Souks sind auch sehr schön, vor allem der Spice und der Gold Souk. Wenn du kein Strandhotel hast, mach auf jeden Fall einen Strandtag in einem der öffentlichen Strände oder schau Dir einen der tollen Wasserparks an (Wild Wadi / Aquaventure). Auch das Burj al Arab kann man (wenn man dort zB Tee trinkt) besichtigen, sicher auch eine Option.   Viel Spaß in Dubai! JP

huhu so, zurück und uns hat es garnicht gefallen. Kulissen sind nett aber ich bin einfach kein Freund überall angesprochen zu werden und wir hatten es uns anders vorgestellt als eben Kulissen mit Verkaufsständen. Abends auch relativ voll gewesen Gut, Eintritt und Fahrt haben wir nicht zahlen müssen da in den Busvouchers enthalten, fä#llt bei mir auch unter gesehen und muss ich nicht nochmals haben, auch mein Teenie fand es voll blöd.

Also, ich bin die letzten 3 Jahre immer mit einem Nokia 5230 mit der OVI-Software gefahren. Klappt wunderbar auch im Oman. Habe nur in Deutschland das Kartenmaterial geladen und das wars. Natürlich gehen keine Staßennamen wie wir sie kennen aber die interessantesten Punkte gibt man ein und das Navi kennt sie. Tolle Streckenführung in Deutsch und auf dem Display. Das Handy gibt es in Deutschland schon ab 89€ inkl. der Navisoftware.   Chris

Hi Polo, es gibt in Dubai so einige schöne Strände, die man als Tourist für wenig Geld besuchen kann. Ich finde folgende am schönsten: Jumeirah Beach Park Sehr schön und sehr groß, auch ziemlich nah an der Stadt. 1 km langer Strand, wirklich fein. Vorsicht, am Montag ist Ladies Day. Al Mamzar Beach Park Auch sehr schön, etwas großzügiger gestaltet, an der Grenze zu Sharjah. Da ist Mittwochs Ladies Day. Hi Isabell, ich selbst kenne den Park nicht, habe aber auch nichts Gutes darüber gehört. Auch wenn der Preis durch den Entertainer niedrig ist, würde ich lieber ins Aquaventure oder Wild Wadi gehen. Grüße, jp

Wenn Du nur nach Hatta fährst, brauchst Du keine "Oman" Versicherung, weil Du auf dem Weg dorthin nur durch ein kurzes Stück Oman fährst. Die HattaPools liegen allerdings schon im Oman drin, es gibt aber keinen merkbaren Grenzübergang. Wenn Dir dort was passiert, ohne Versicherung, hast Du echt Pech. Wir hatten keine Versicherung abgeschlossen ( an jedem Grenzübergang für einige Euros (AED) zu haben... ) und Glück gehabt. Alternativ mit dem Auto nach AbuDhabi ist auch ne nette Tour. Nach RAK oder Fujeirah kann man sich sparen, finde ich, einfach nichts los dort.... VG Mark

Ich war schon in allen 4 Hotels, im Westin, LRM und im Hilton sogar mehrfach. Wenn du doch noch ein bisschen Geld übrig hast, geh auf jeden Fall ins Westin, es ist um einiges schöner als das Hilton. Du machst mit dem Hilton nichts falsch. Alles okay dort, alles sauber, bodenständig. Das weitaus schönere Haus ist jedoch das Westin. Das LRM ist auch super und hat eine für heutige Verhältnisse beispiellos große Gartenanlage. Als ich da 1999 das erste mal war, war rundum fast gar nix Service ist top. Die Standardzimmer allerdings sind klein. Lieber in den Club Tower einbuchen. Das Meridien Mina Seyahi würde ich meiden. LG, jp

Hast Du Dir mal das Palace the Old Town angeschaut? Weiß nicht, ob das noch in Deiner Preisrange ist. Ansonsten ist das Qamardeen gut und auch das Four Points Downtown, wobei da der Pool eher bescheiden ist (klein und auf dem Dach). Ansonsten gebe ich den Jungs recht, das Grand Hyatt hat von den Stadthotels die schönste Poolanlage.

Die Moschee ist Samstag bis Donnerstag von 8-11 Uhr für Nicht-Moslems geöffnet. An entsprechende Kleidung denken, Kopftücher gibt es vor Ort. Der große Gebetsraum ist sehr imposant. Gruß Frank

Also mir gefiel die Gesamtanlage in 2009 nicht so sehr - speziell, weil mir u.a. die Pools für die Größe der Anlage zu klein waren.
