Inland of Durban, in an area that is something of a respite for all who go there, between Pietermaritzburg and the Drakensberg Mountains, is a beautiful region filled with stretches of farmland, charming little towns, a wonderful arts and crafts route and picturesque scenery bordering on the Natal Midlands. Rich with water - rivers, lakes, dams and waterfalls in abundance, the landscape is endowed with green pastures, hills and forests, whilst the northern reaches of the Midlands are dominated by the foothills and mountains of the Drakensberg. If you’re not hiking then spend time exploring the many coffee shops, art galleries, pretty guest houses, cheese farms, trout farms, potters, weavers and painters who have made this region their home. The Midlands Meander is now a wonderfully refreshing mix of over 150 places at which to eat, drink and shop, and extends from Rietvlei and Curry’s Post to Dargle Valley and Fort Nottingham - 80 kilometres of activity.

Stonehaven Lodge & Conference Centre has an exciting variety of outdoor venues, which are in high demand for theme evenings, cocktail receptions and traditional African barbecues. The dining room deck, which is overlooking the panoramic mountains and grasslands, is ideal for a refreshing sundowner behind the long and stressful day. Umbrellas are available in case of the hot days. The swimming pool area, also overlooking the beautiful mountain views is superb for the hot days while enjoying at couple of cold beers in a relaxed environment. We also cater for pool parties with cocktails at a reasonable price. Next to the swimming pool we have a children’s playground which includes a trampoline just to keep the young ones busy for the day. During the warm evenings we also cater for groups on the garden. This is most popular for typically African Barbecues with large bonfires that take you back in the days. We also offer Game drives with a wide range of wildlife species, and this is bookable at our reception desk. The underground cellar is an elegant venue that caters for anniversaries, birthday parties and cocktail parties and cabarets. Theme evenings are catered for with a wide range of African decor available.

Stonehaven Lodge & Conference Centre provides for a great variety of functions. Whether you are organizing a small, intimate meeting, or medium scale, multi-day conference, we have something to suit your needs. Our conference facilities range from boardroom meetings for 30 delegates, U – shape for 40 delegates, Schoolroom for 50 delegates, conferences up to 60 delegates (cinema style) 90 delegates (banqueting style) and formal dinners for 90 guests (banqueting). Situated adjacent to the Reception, This venue is also ideal for upmarket functions. Our conference room is equipped with wall to wall carpeting, fireplace, LCD Projector and screen, Whiteboard plus markers, DVD Player, flipchart stand plus paper and independently controlled light switches with dimmers. Our conference venue is also ideal for workshops up to 45 delegates. The underground cellar is an elegant venue that caters for anniversaries, birthday parties and cocktail parties and cabarets.
