Overlooking a permanent stretch of water, Machampane Wilderness Camp nestles in a riverine forest of fever and acacia trees. This unfenced camp is located in Parque Nacional do Limpopo, the Mocambiquan sector of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park that also includes South Africa\'s Kruger National Park and Zimbabwe\'s Gonarezhou National Park. Home to the Big 5 and many other varieties of wildlife, this camp offers an amazing experience with a focus on game walks in the surrounding pristine wilderness area. It is a birdlovers paradise offering many unusual sightings and is rated a birder friendly establisment by BirdLife South Africa.

Out on a guided morning walk from Machampane Wilderness Camp, accompanied by the cry of the fish eagle and grey loerie, a guest surveys the tree canopies on the opposite banks alert to a sighting of one of the seldom seen species that are endemic to this area.
