Dear Britta, Thank you for selecting to visit the beautiful island of Samos while staying at our hotel! Your pleasant words about the hotel’s appeal to you is very welcome and we thank you for your comment and the high value for money you give us. We should, however, clarify that some impressions of yours can be more realistically stated. Firstly, our town Karlovassi is not at the end of the island, just because the airport is at the south of it. As you may know from major world cities, airports are often located far away, with direct City Bus routes needing more than an hour of direct drive to reach central points. One can say that our Ag. Kyriaki, Limnionas, Livadaki or Kassonisi areas are toward the end of Samos, but definitely not Karlovassi! I would like to make known that Karlovassi has a port, a fully active one in hosting all ships, being the first port visited from Athens and other islands. Karlovassi hosts the Aegean University, a much acknowledged Aegean University, visited for studies and conferences from researchers and scholars from all over the world. Our town’s centre presents a large variety of tastefully made shops, franchise stores ( a stores opening hours program is available in our lobby entrance), a square of life-bursting activity. And yet, as fellow travelers of yours have written: “we really liked the authenticity of Karlovasi. It was not as touristy as you would expect from other Greek islands. The fishermen still clean their nets in the harbour and the cats wait outside for a treat.” Secondly, mind you, please, our pool is open right after breakfast, at 10:00 (the towel service starts at 10:30), the temperature has never reached 46 degrees Celsius, our highest in serious heat wave cannot exceed, let’s say 39-40 degrees and this was so at the end of past June. You see, we are lucky to be situated at the north side of the island, with our Aegean Sea really balancing high temperatures at times, a feature so much appreciated by repeating guests and other town visitors over the past decades. Your praising words for our precious Maria is so cute, she will love it, too, as we did!
