Das Grand Mercure Khao Lak Bangsak ist ein sehr schönes Hotel. Das Frühstück lässt keine Wünsche offen und wir hatten keine Probleme, zu welcher Zeit auch immer, einen Platz zu bekommen. Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig und das Personal mega nett. Was nervt ist der ewig lange Weg zum Strand und der Mangel an schattigen Liegeplätzen. Es sollte doch kein Problem sein noch Sonnenschirme aufzustellen. Es gibt außerdem für Raucher keinen wirklich gemütlichen Platz zum Rauchen. Eine Engländerin hat zwei Tische an der Poolbar als Raucherplätze erstritten. Ich bin Nichtraucher, mein Mann Raucher und das Hotel ist nicht als Nichtraucherhotel ausgewiesen. Ich finde Toleranz sollte hier in beide Richtungen gehen, oder man macht das Hotel klar ersichtlich zum Nichtraucherhotel. Außerhalb des Hotels ist leider nicht viel los. Um 22 Uhr werden hier die Gehwege hochgeklappt. Im Hotel ist soweit auch nicht viel geboten. Wer nur Ruhe, Erholung und schönes Ambiente sucht ist hier genau richtig. Wer abends etwas erleben möchte ist hier fehl am Platz.
