El Somni Ibiza Dream Hotel by Grupotel

I travelled alone with 2 children. The staff are very friendly, they speak German very well and a bit of English. The double rooms have amazing views of the bay - the single rooms get a wall and the noise of the taxis all night. The room was well kept, had lots of storage space and was very clean. There is a bar area right next to the pool. There are singers about 3 times a week which is nice in the evening. The hotel is right on the beach - just cross the promenade. The beach is beautifully sandy with gorgeous views and the sea has a nice slope so kids can go in quite a way. The sea is clean and nice and sandy under foot - no horrid bits floating around. Most of the sea area is separated by a buoy - rope section to stop boats going in and air-beds floating out. There are 2-3 small shops with all necessities, one small boutique with ladies clothes. The kids splashed in the pool all day and were safe and happy. However the pool was just a square shape with a very small square section for non-swimmers & smaller kids. There is no childrens' entertainment, so any longer than a week and the kids could be getting board. There is quite a lot of noise / music from the neighbouring hotel with their speakers always facing the beach and quite loud playing music all day. There also seems to be a constant loud humming sound which can be heard during the day in the whole of the bay. It seemed to be a pipe or mains system. It is off at night but it was quite noticeable during the day. Also, there are only around 40 - 50 seats around the pool and all seats next to the pool are "reserved" by 7am!!! and often not actually used until around 10am. To summarise: A very clean, safe, friendly and beautiful location. Great if you are looking for a relaxing time and you do not expect entertainment.
