Captain's Lodge - A retreat of an Airline Captain Captain's Lodge is a great choice if you are looking for somewhere secluded and calm near Kandy. Captain's Lodge is located in a small Sri Lankan typical hamlet which is 20minutes before Kandy. The bungalow lies on a slope of a tea estate with a fantastic view of the hills and ancient Buddhist temple on opposite hill top. It is unique for it's tranquility scenic settings and it's scenic settings and it's location in the loop of the three temples. It is remote enough that you feel like you have escaped from the world but close enough that you can easily get to places. It will be wonderful being up in the hills with only the sounds of nature and nearby temples. When you are there listening to buddhist monastery chant in the morning and evening brings a level of peace that you haven't found before. All of this in conjunction with the amazing Sri Lankan authentic cooking with fresh vegetables obtained from the gardens nearby, makes this the ideal place to escape from modern day pressures. The house is an excellent example of the architecture of the colonial era. Antique furniture, old family photos derive a sense of it's aristocratic family background whose history connects to Kings of the bygone era. On the wall hang pictures of Ceylon Aviation history where the present owner and his father, the First Jet Captain in Ceylon which creates a museum atmosphere. Many species of birds are regular visitors to it's garden. 'Hambawa" the elusive nocturnal flying squirrel has been spotted feasting on Oak fruits and a group of langur monkeys have dropped in to say "Hello" also a lone peacock has been spotted loitering in the garden.

Zimmer / Unterbringung im Hotel
3 bed rooms available. All 3 rooms have attached bathrooms with hot and cool water facilities. The toliatries and linen( bed sheets, pillow cases, blankets and towels ) are provided. The Master bed room is tastefully decorated with Sri Lankan pictures. It has a king size antique four poster bed with a luxury comfortable mattress. It has been designed with a dressing area, a sofa, a writing desk and a wardrobe. The other room which is called 'Queen room' facilitating a queen bed. It has also been decorated according to traditional aristrocratic style. The furniture including bed,and cloth hanger are antique typed ones. Two ward robes also available and the room consists with a door which opens out to the garden. The third room lies on stilts on high position where you have to approach there through a staircase. It is very tastefully done up with antique furniture including antique wardrobe, traditional cloth hanger, antique settee. Two single beds are available.

Sri Lankan authentic fresh food prepared by the care taker. Fresh fruits, Sri Lankan authentic fruits where guests will not be able to buy at the market.

In the mornings, birds will entertain you with their songs while your mind relaxes in the buddhist monastery chant hearing from the ancient temple on the hill top. Having located in the loop of three ancient temples at a walking distance Captain's Lodge is ideal for hikers. Guests who visit are used to walk round the village including the tree temples. Round the village trip is really important for those who are interested in experience the real Sri Lankan country life style. you can enjoy the view of green paddy fields, friendly villagers, Kandyan artifacts shops, artifacts workshops where people work on making those traditional artifacts. Also can enjoy a day excursion to Nuwara Eliya or Wasgamuwa national park and Mahiyanganaya.
