Flying Fox - Pteropus hypomelanus maris Neben den Maledivischen Flughunden gibt es eine zweite Fledertierart, die man mit etwas Glück auf den Malediven beobachten kann. Es handelt sich hierbei um Pteropus hypomelanus maris (Island Flying Fox). Der Körper dieser Tiere ist deutlich dunkler als derjenige der Maledivischen Flughunde.
