Castello Albertina

Dear Sandra, I am very sorry that you were not satisfied with your stay in Castello Albertina, since we are really committed to excellence. However, your review came also with a little bit of surprise. First of all, Castello Albertina is not a hotel. We literally give our guests the key to our historical little caste and large part of its garden – one of the most famous, ancient and prestigious villas of Maccagno - and grant them the experience of being the owners of it for their entire stay. However, you will not find the typical hotel services. In other words, we ensure that the rooms, the house facilities, the garden, and the pool (not an Olympic pool, admittedly, approximately 9 meters x 4) are clean and properly functioning when you arrive and keep maintenance of the garden and the pool on a regular basis. However, we do not cater for room-cleaning during the stay of our guests. It is a family-owned business and myself, together with my children, are really keen to help our guests in any possible way. Most of the times there is a member of my family physically present in a totally detached part of the villa to help our guests. I myself speak only little English and do not speak German. However my children speak English, German, Russian and French fluently. They are not always physically present, of course, but they may be reached on their mobile phones for any possible request, if communication with me may be complicated. Maccagno is a well-known lively summer resort. A lot of different sport activities and summer resorts are at hand (e.g., beaches, rock climbing, wind surfing, running, trekking). However, please keep in mind that September – when you came - is at the very end of the summer season and it may be rainy at times.
