Aus DeutschlandSehr schöne Hotelanlage, noch relativ neu, direkt am Strand von Khao Lak Bangsak. Wir haben hier Erholung gesucht und gefunden.
Die Zimmer sind sehr stilvoll eingerichtet. Es gibt ausreichend Ablageflächen. Wir hatten ein Deluxe-Zimmer auf der unteren Etage und waren damit sehr zufrieden. Die Terrasse ist sehr schön.
Wir hatten nur Frühstück gebucht - das Frühstücksbuffet habe wir als sehr gut und abwechslungsreich empfunden. Eierspeisen werden frisch und nach Wunsch zubereitet. Das Patio Restaurant ist wirklich schön und wir haben trotz Hochsaison immer draußen am Wasser sitzen können (waren aber auch I.d.R. vor 8.30 Uhr da). Wir waren einmal à la carte im Green Mango essen - das war auch gut. Die Speisenauswahl ist groß und neben thailändischem Essen werden hier auch internationale Speisen angeboten.
Das Personal war immer und überall sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Uns wurde leider fälschlicherweise ein Zimmer mit zwei Einzelbetten statt einem Kingsize-Bett zugeteilt. Trotz unserer späten Ankunft (23 Uhr) wurde sich umgehend darum gekümmert und die Betten mit Topper & Co. zum Doppelbett umgebaut. Wir waren zunächst skeptisch, aber es hat den Schlafkomfort nicht beeinträchtigt.
Vom Flughafen in Phuket sind es ca. 1,5 Std. Autofahrt zum Grand Mercure. Khao Lak eignet sich gut als Ausgangslage, wenn man z.B. die Similan oder Surin Inseln oder den Khao Sok Nationalpark besuchen möchte. Wir haben uns bewusst für ein Hotel etwas abseits vom Trubel entschieden, trotzdem findet man in fußläufiger Entfernung alles, was man braucht: Restaurants, Bars, Shops, Massagen. Für unsere Bedürfnisse war es perfekt!

Für uns stand Entspannung im Vordergrund, sodass das Freizeitangebot für uns nicht entscheidend war. Das Hotel bietet einen Spa-Bereich mit Massage-Angebot (haben wir nicht genutzt), ein Fitnessstudio (24 Stunden geöffnet), 2 Pools (einen kleinen nahe der Rezeption und einen etwas größeren unten am Strand mit Poolbar) sowie einen Kids Club und kleinere Entertainment-Angebote wie Aqua Fitness o.Ä. Am Strand kann man kostenlos SUP-Boards und Kayaks mieten - das hat uns besonders gut gefallen! Es gibt also Beschäftigungsmöglichkeiten, die wir gleichzeitig als Ruhesuchende nicht als störend empfunden haben.
