Dear Ulrike & Petra, Thank you for having chosen to stay at Papillon Lagoon Reef hotel and finding time to post a review of your holiday with us. We use our guests’ feedback to help improve the experience we offer our customers. Taking your points in turn: Our rooms are serviced daily in a manner consistent with good housekeeping practices which many guests appreciate as good. We have full time maintenance staff who continually keep the hotel up to standard. In this tropical country, with high humidity along the coastal beach, damp smell would occur especially when guests set their Air-conditioners at very low temperatures for long. We do anticipate it and therefore regularly clean and air even unoccupied rooms. As described on our website and marketing materials, fridges are only available in Beachfront and Superior Garden rooms however, guests in garden/family rooms can hire fridges at a minimal fee. Room safes are not included the room rate and therefore paid locally. Beaches in Kenya are public. We have G4S guards patrolling the beach boundaries of the hotel 24hrs a day. However, many guests court beach vendors and obviously encourage them to further tout for business. Whenever hotel receives a report of beach harassment, we call Tourist Police. Our pool attendants are trained to ensure water balance in the pool for safe and enjoyable customer experience. Pool is regularly treated, cleaned and tested for proper chemical balance -pH and chlorine levels correct. Best regards, Aloice Manager
