Ong Jemel, located a few kilometers between Tozeur and Nefta in Tunisia, presents spectacular effects of the influence of water and wind on a rocky bloc. This place owes its name to the resemblance of its shape to a camel's neck. Surrounded by numerous large Tunisian desert oasis, this site, where all lovers of science fiction would like to go, was the location for the filming of scenes from 'Star Wars' and the realization of the "English Patient". Therefore, Ong Jemel is a tourist attraction for several years despite its difficult accessibility on the site (only aboard all-terrain vehicles). The Tunisian Ministry of tourism has already devoted more than 500,000 dinars for the rehabilitation of the site and also the monastery (which is located here), threatened by the dunes of the Sahara. In addition, Tunisia has launched an international fundraising campaign to save the place which is so important for the "Star Wars" fans.
