Velavaru ist eine kleine nette Insel mit sehr freundlichen Personal. Die Schildkröten-Insel bezaubert mit schöner Vegetation und netten Ambiente. Am Strand fand sich die ersten 2 Meter viel Korallenbruch und dann ging es wie eine Stufe runter und war weich. Das Wasser war zu unserer Zeit nicht klar auf der Seite mit Blick auf die Ocean Villas. Das lag wohl am Wind. Es war Mitte August untypisch ziemlich windig. Auf der anderen Seite war es klarer aber da hatte es mehr Korallenbruch. Meine Tochter hatte zum Frühstück von den netten Köchen Schildkröten-Pfannkuchen bekommen. Nebenkosten sind sehr hoch. Hamburger 25$, dafür auch die Seafood Nudeln 27 $ die sehr lecker waren. Die Insel ist teuer durch die steigenden Kosten des Wasserflugzeuges was mit 460 $ pro Person zu Buche schlägt. Die In Ocean Villas sind nett, man kann mit dem Boot rüberfahren und diese anschauen. Dort befindet sich auch die Schildkrötenzucht, welche sehr schön ist. Sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter. Uns hat die Insel sehr gut gefallen!

August is one of the wettest months of the year and winds are typically stronger in the wet season in general. You may also experience endless rain or no rain at all or you may have a mix of rain showers and sunshine at any time. Selling prices of goods and services are higher in the Maldives compared to other locations due to the high input costs. All input goods need to be sourced from outside of Maldives.
