SAii Phi Phi Island Village

The resort itself is a very beautiful and relaxing setting with very nice and comfortable bungalows. As mentioned the food is to expensiv (even thai food) for thailand and the quality was much better in very simple and cheap restaurants we tried at other places. The offerings are manifold but it lacks in feeling real thai traditional atmosphere. (Especially if the english singing thai band positions a half meter to your dinner table if you want or not ;-) ) Unfortunately we and other people we meet there experienced unjustified charge positions ( longtail transfers ) at the final account. After we adresses these positions they corrected them at once but It feels a bit like ‘ let’s try it..’ The hotel beach looks nice on pictures but in fact it was very disappointing to swim because until noon the water is very flat with coral-stoned ground and in the afternoon there is no water due to low tide. However, the pool is very nice and in perfect condition. We got a useful hint from people we met in the diving center after discussing the resort restaurants. There is a small and very simple restaurant beside the walking way to Lana Bay. This was a most wellcome alternativ to the expensive and to pompous resort restaurants. Beside a lack of alternatives in a little nightlife and shopping in all we enjoyed staying there.
